For the thorough renovation of an old farm, JUMA architects set out in search of the perfect balance between old and new. The farm was opened up by demolishing walls and introducing windows, but valuable historic elements, such as the impressive fireplace and old heavy beams, were retained. Contemporary elements were distinguished from historic ones by the use of simple black frameworks.
The modern open-plan kitchen features an an eye-catching island finished in natural stone and a clever pendent lamp system that can be expanded or contracted to need. Last but not least the fully renovated staircase features a special tier-shaped storage closet running along the stairway. Its height follows the flow of the stairs, allowing the space to stay as open as possible.
