A 19th-century building in the historic centre of Porto, Portugal, gets a contemporary upgrade. The project’s focus was to transform the upper floors of the building and adapt them in order to house an office floor and seven apartments. Correia/Ragazzi Arquitectos’ aim was balance the uniqueness and character of the historic construction with the introduction of modern elements. At ground level, a restaurant gained a new colour scheme for its elegant ironwork and tiled exterior.
