House F

House F is a three-storey home in Denkendorf, south-east of Stuttgart built by Ippolito Fleitz Group. Its overall proportions echo the neighbouring houses, but the asymmetrical roof ridge and different-shaped projecting and recessed windows mark it out as something more innovative. The house has a guest bedroom and office and ground level, a loft-like kitchen, dining and living space organised around a central stairwell on the first floor, and three bedrooms, open to the eaves, on the top level. It is heated by geothermal energy from two 100m-deep boreholes, and rainwater is collected in a 5,000L cistern, which provides water for domestic use.
