Husarö House

As a nod to both its limited budget and its gorgeous Stockholm archipelago setting, Tham & Videgård kept this rebuilt holiday home simple. The two-floor building has a heavily pitched roof, with the ground floor as a series of interconnected rooms further connected with the outside in all directions by large sliding doors. The upper floor features a skylight that runs along the ridge of the roof, underscoring the verticality of space. The outside is entirely clad in black sheet metal while on the inside light wood keeps the ground floor fresh while upstairs, interestingly, plywood has been folded to form a series of vaults.
