Lagnö Summerhouse

Rather than referencing forests as so many Scandinavian houses do, when Tham & Videgard came to design the house at Lagno, they focused on the granite bedrock and the pitched roofs of boathouses. The grey concrete building features of five connected spaces with gabled roofs, with one being a simple outdoor space protected by a canopy of glass. When people arrive at the house they can therefore see through it to the wonderful bay view. The relatively shallow house is however all blond and ash wood inside, and continuous sliding glass doors facing the water means the focus is on the beauty outside.
