Pennethorne’s Café Bar

Located within one of London’s cultural hubs, the neoclassical Somerset House, Pennethorne’s is named after the Victorian architect who created the building’s New Wing. The interiors take Sir James Pennethorne as design inspiration, marrying Victorian visual references with contemporary lighting and furniture. Materials and colours contrast dark and moody – inky-blue walls, a blackened steel bar – with gilt, brass and marble. SHH also designed the brand identity for the venue, including the visual branding and uniforms.
