Villa Orsini

An historically important villa in the foothills of Florence, Villa Orsini was broken up into apartments in the 1980s to avoid it falling into disrepair. B-arch’s brief for remodelling this apartment was to open up the space to make it less cramped and dark, and reconnect it with the gardens outside. Many contemporary elements were added, contrasting with the historic architecture, including a steel and Corian kitchen (separated by glass sliding doors), illuminated shelving and exposed concrete walls.
