Fondation Louis Vuitton

This extraordinary, poetic building in the Bois de Bologne was designed by Frank Gehry as an art space for the 21st century. It was commissioned by LVMH’s Bernard Arnault who gave architect Frank Gehry carte blanche to create a building which, originally conceived as a cloud floating above water and among trees, encapsulates light and motion while merging harmoniously with the 19th century park. The extraordinarily complex building features 12 gass sails over a series of ‘icebergs covered in white Ductal. It sits in a slight basin, over a water garden, the better to reflect its many angles.
