Monte Carlo Apartment
A 200sq m on the 14th floor of a 1960s building overlooking the Mediterranean, remodelled for a family of four who love art and contemporary design. Federico Delrosso aimed to create a space that had a gallery-like sense of emptiness, to show off the art, yet was still highly functional - the desk, kitchen appliances, make-up area and a bookshelf emerge from the cupboard walls as and when they are needed. Audio and lighting systems have been built into the ceiling to make the space even more seamless and minimal. The outdoor terrace is more natural-looking than the interior, reflecting its affinity with the sea beyond, with reconstituted wood flooring and panelling, contrasting with the glossy resin floors within.
